... not your product ... not your service ... but you? You, as in, your name, your nickname (aka The Web Success Diva), you as a person, as an expert...
Something to think about... type in your favorite experts name or nickname, in Google. What comes up? For the sake of making a point, type in Maria Reyes-McDavis or The Web Success Diva (not case-sensitive)... what comes up?
Now, if I'm a potential client, a member of your audience, I've spotted you somewhere, and I want to learn more about you... what would I find?
My goal ... explode my expert status online. What's your goal for 2008?
To Your Success,

Well, I did what you suggested: I googled myself. And, boy, was I amazed.
Apparently, I've been a busy -- and successful -- self-promoter.
The first 11 search pages were "All Mark David Gerson, All the Time." And the 12th page had only one listing that had nothing to do with me. It took until the 26th page until I vanished altogether (although not permanently).
Among the 47 pages of search results were several pleasing surprises:
- I discovered that both my books are available on Amazon.ca and Amazon.co.uk. I thought they were only available at Amazon.com
- someone listed one of my books on Oprah.com's message board (hasn't gotten me on the show yet, but hey, it's early days!)
- the Calgary Public Library has 4 copies of my novel, The MoonQuest
- the majority of the results related to my books -- a good thing, because that's what I've been primarily promoting.
I bet if I re-google myself in a couple of days, I'd find this comment in there, too!
A fascinating exercise. Thanks.
Mark David
Yes we can find in some sites. That is the advantage of google we have.Social media marketing is the best way to let others to know about ourselves and our products.
